Countdown to Above and Beyond

Counting down 23.5 hours until Above and Beyond hits the decks tomorrow night at Pacha in Manhattan. I’ve been buying records from their label, Anjunabeats for a long time now, but haven’t heard a lot of their productions. Nonetheless I am quite excited to experience one of the hottest names in Trance music today, in one of the hottest clubs in the world.

I’ve not yet been to Pacha. I was checking out some photos on their site, and the phrase, “over the top” comes to mind. Classic New York City club style. Very metropolitan. I also checked out what kind of gear they have for DJ’s, which included Technics 1200 MK5’s, and Pioneer CDJ 1000 MKII’s. Nothing but the best in order to be the best, I guess.

I expect to enjoy myself completely. A night out like this has been a long time coming!

Mostly classical and electronic composition, but also Jazz, and rock guitar playing. I first heard what my friend called "techno" in 1993, and I loved it instantly. Then a couple of years later, while in college, I was turned onto deep house and drum n' bass and my life has never been the same since. Eventually trance captured my soul, and it just won't let go. I love many styles of electronic music, even terror core, and happy hardcore. I haven't listened to a rock album in ages, and I expect not to, perhaps ever again.
